Royal Decree 184/2022, of March 8

By which the provision of electric car recharging service by service stations is regulated.

The law establishes the obligation to install certain electrical charging points in service stations based on the volume of sales.

Volume equal to or greater than 10 million liters

In the first place, the owners of fuel and fuel supply facilities for vehicles with an aggregate annual sales volume of gasoline and diesel A (other diesels are not included) in 2019 equal to or greater than 10 million liters[_0127_5_1 ] must install, at each station that meets this requirement, at least an electrical recharging infrastructure with a power equal to or greater than 150 kW in direct current. To comply with this obligation, the Law sets a period of 21 months from its entry into force, a period that would end on February 22, 2023.

Volume equal to or greater than 5 million liters

Secondly, the owners of facilities whose aggregate annual sales volume in 2019 has been equal to or greater than 5 million liters and less than 10 million liters must install at least one recharging infrastructure. electric power equal to or greater than 50 kW in direct current , and this within a period of 27 months, that is, before August 22, 2023.
